General Information

Search Policy

You could be searched at the entrance for illegal items. If found they will be confiscated. Persons suspected of illegal activity will be searched and may be removed from site. Do not attempt to bring in illegal substances as you risk being caught and reported to police.

The following items cannot be brought in to the 'Takeoff' site:
• No! No offensive weapons
• No! No fireworks, flares, laser pens or laser equipment.
• No! No animals except guide dogs.

Please respect others. Anti social behavior could lead to being removed from site. Takeoff do not permit the use of legal highs. Anyone found with them in possession will have them confiscated.

Toilets

There are plenty of toilets on site. Please keep toilets clean. Always wash your hands after using the toilets.

Rubbish & Waste

There are plenty of bins on site. Please use bins and not the floor.

Valuables

Keep your valuables safe. Carry money, credit cards, mobile phones, cameras, and anything else of value with you at all times. Don't leave valuables where people can pick them up.

Food & Drink

Licensing laws do not permit you to bring you own food and drink on site unless you have specific dietary requirements supported by a doctor's note. There will quality food available at the event from different food sellers and plenty of bars.

Medical Attention

There is a medical first aid centre with qualified staff. Please identify location on arrival. There are lots of Marshalls and Security on site who can be alerted to get medical help. If you see anyone unwell please take them to the first aid area. If they are not able to be moved please contact a marshal or member of security as quickly as possible who will call for the necessary help. If you need to take medication regularly remember to bring it and let your friends know of any illness or allergies you may have.

I want to travel by rail to 'Take Off', what is the nearest Station?

Southend Airport or Southend East are the nearest stations. Shuttle mini buses will be running all day to Takeoff from the stations. On the Victoria line the nearest station is Southend Airport. On the C2C line the nearest station is Southend East. Shuttle mini buses will have Takeoff signs in their front window and are being run by Andrews Taxis. Cost £2 each person if 5 people in minibus.

Will I be able to get cash out at the event?

Yes, there will be ATM machines on the site . We do advise that you come with enough money though because although cash is regularly re-stocked the sheer volume of people using the machine can sometimes cause delays.

Is there any disabled access?

The site is accessible to disabled customers.

Will there be anywhere to sit down at 'Take Off'?

There will be a chill-out area with seating inside.

Car Parking

There is a car park at the site with plenty of room for parking. Vehicles left on site are done so at their own risk. We cannot be responsible for damages.

Southend Airport on Southend Victoria line is the nearest station. On the C2C line the nearest station is Southend East. Shuttle buses to 'Take Off' will be running from both stations all day.

Are coaches available?

Yes tickets are available including return coach travel from all local areas. Details on home page.

I want to stay over for the night, are there any hotels nearby?

Various B&B's and hotels are available in the area - Roslin Beach hotel,Thorpe Esplanade is recommended as being the nicest.
